APC Governors Say No Crisis In Party

Some Governors on the platform of the All progressives Congress APC have denied reports in some sections of the media that the progressives Governors forum is embroiled in crisis over the tenure elongation controversy rocking the Party.

The Governors have also thrown their weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari's stance on the need to respect the party's constitution with regards to the term limit for the current National working committee of the ruling APC.

Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha led some of his colleagues in the Progressives Governors forum to brief state House correspondents after they met again with President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday morning at the state House.

They told reporters that after wide consultations, they have agreed to hold congresses at all levels.
The committee set up by the National Secretariat of the All progressives Congress APC Headed by Governor of Plateau State, is expected to present its report this Wednesday.

The governors say they are also meeting with the working committee today in order to come up with names of convention committees as well as timetable for the election.

According to AIT it is gathered that some of the APC Governors have kicked against moves to hold congresses.

Some of them who spoke off camera said holding congresses at this time could fuel crisis in the Party.

The twenty four Governors APC Governors had on Tuesday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock villa in Abuja, but the meeting ended abruptly as the governors were said not have reached a consensus on issues raised.
