IMO State Ready To Tackle Lassa Fever







The IMO state government is now ready  to To prevent any further occurrences of Lassa fever epidemic after the January outbreak during which three victims were confirmed dead.

The State Commissioner for Health, Angela Uwakwem, said Lassa fever can be prevented if adequate precautions are taken.

The Imo State Commissioner for Health and a medical expert, Okechukwu Dike, said the state government has put some measures in place to avert any outbreak.

Although, no any type of measure has been  said  yet, but it is obvious that IMO state government is ready to  tackle this deadly and unwanted  disease.

Dike also called on the government to provide Disease Control Centres and also fund the healthcare centres.

He advised the people of the need to keep rat out of their houses and maintain absolute cleanliness to avert the epidemic.
