A 26 year old woman identified as Devine has been caught in the process of stealing a six week old baby.
The incident happened at number 26 Tony Odu Street, Gyado Villa, Makurdi, Benue state.
The suspect was spotted by a 10-year-old girl named Hembadoon Tersoo while she was trying to escape. The young girl then made a call and alerted the mother of the baby.
It was gathered that the mother of the child, Mrs. Doris Ukeyima, who was engaged in cleaning activities behind the house raised the alarm, which led to the arrest of the abductor.
Narrating the incident,the father of the child, Mr. Samuel told Punch that the incident happened on Thursday. According to him, the lady came into the house from the bush path at the back yard, knowing fully well that his wife was not in the house.
But unknown to the kidnapper, another neighbour was somewhere watching her.
The suspect is currently being detained at E Division, Makurdi.
