Two unemployed men, Ogbonnaya Ogar, 35; and Samaila Yakubu, 31; yesterday appeared at an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court for alleged theft of two rams worth N160, 000.
The accused pleaded not guilty.
Prosecuting Inspector Ingobo Emby said the accused committed the offence on January 21, by 3am, at Onikan, Lagos.
He alleged that the duo stole the rams belonging to the complainant, Maj. M. I. Muazu.
“The rams were tied beside a bridge to graze and the accused went there to steal them,” Emby said.
Magistrate O. O. Otitoju granted the accused N50, 000 bail each with two sureties each in the like sum.
She said the sureties should live within the court’s jurisdiction and one of the sureties should be a relation of the accused.
The case continues on February 18.
