Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the loss of lives in latest bandits’ attacks in Sokoto and Kaduna states.
It had been reported that Gov Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State confirmed the death of 16 people in a fresh attack in Dalijan, Rakkoni and Kalhu communities in the Rabah Local Government Area of the state.
Reacting, Atiku condemned the attack by suspected herdsmen in Sokoto and Kaduna.
He called on security agencies to restore peace and security to the situation in both states.
On his Twitter page, Atiku wrote: “The loss of over 40 lives in attacks at Dalijan, Rakkoni & Kalhu in Rabah council of Sokoto & reported herdsmen attack on Kajuru, Kaduna State stands condemned.
“I urge security be stepped up while peace building initiatives promoted in Kajuru to stem the lingering crisis there.”
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari commiserating with the families of victims of the latest attack in Sokoto and Kaduna attacks warned that, “mass murder of innocent people by criminals would be met with full force.”
