Senator representing Nasarawa South senatorial district under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Solomon Adokwe, said the last minute postponement of the election has crippled and rendered the party broke.
Senator Adokwe told newsmen, yesterday, in Lafia, that the commission’s action, with regard to the sudden postponement of the election, last Saturday, was a calculated attempt to make sure the opposition PDP has no funds to mobilise logistics to its members.
He alleged there was heavy pressure on the commission by the ruling party to conduct staggard elections. He also alleged plans by the ruling party to use enough security agencies, in a staggard election, to pepetuate themselves in office, even though it is clear Nigerians would reject them in a free and fair election.
Adokwe, who accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of bias against the PDP.
“Most states in Nigeria, including Nasarawa state, were earmarked to frustrate the process, so they would have staggard election. I believe God is working, now you have the whole week to prepare and address all the challenges; no excuses any more” he said
He accused the commission of being partisan and questioned the integrity and credibility of INEC to conduct free and fair elections.
“They did that to frustrate PDP; it was a calculated attempt at making sure PDP is broke, since they can easily go back to Central Bank to get funds. It is an attempt to make sure we are crippled and broke, but they will be shocked at the resilience of PDP; we are going to bounced back right in their faces.”
