The Nigeria Labour Congress and stakeholders in the health sector have kicked against casualisation in the sector, describing it as a replica of the abolished slave trade.
Reacting to a motion moved by the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria and Amalgamated Union of Corporation, Civil Service, Technical and Recreational Services Employees during the 12th NLC Delegate Conference in Abuja, President of NLC, Ayuba Wabba, said the workers union would continue to push for decent work status and equality among all workers.
He said the motion, which was one of the 62 resolutions adopted by the conference, would guide the union in sanitising the health sector.
He said, “We will fight against all the ills in the health and other sectors. Workers deserve the best and we shall ensure they get it.”
