According to Daily post, Officers and men of the Sapele Police Divisional Headquarters in collaboration with local vigilantes have gunned down a suspected armed robber at Fedison Street of Ubini Drive, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, DAILY POST can report.
The incident occurred at about 3am Sunday morning.
The incident followed a complaint/distressed call by a Victim, Justin Chukwudi Uche.
The Police and the Vigilante promptly swung into action but unfortunately, before their arrival at the scene of incident, the suspected armed robber had already injured the victim.
A member of the Vigilante, Syvelster David who grabbed one of the armed robbers was also stabbed in the neck.
The criminal gang also engaged the police and vigilante in a gun duel.
In the process, a suspected armed robber was shot while the others who could not withstand the Superior fire power of the Police jumped into a swamp and escaped.
It was learnt that the deceased suspected armed robber died on the way to the hospital as he was being rushed by the Police.
Police recovered from the suspected armed robber, a double barreled short gun, three cartridges and one expended cartridge.
