Suspect Who Kidnapped Lagos Fire Service Boss Confess To Collecting N5m Ransom


Rasaki Musibau one of the suspected gang member who kidnapped Lagos state fire service boss has admitted to the collection of N5m ransom and not N50m as speculated.

It was earlier reported that gun men kidnapped Lagos state fire service boss along with six others. They were released six days after ransom has been paid.

According to one of the suspect Blessing Boyo, who was paraded alongside Smart Alfred yesterday at the command headquarters, Ikeja, by the Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu narrated how they kidnapped him.

According to Boyo "we used timbers to block the road before ambushing their them. He said the four guns used for the operation were brought by the gang leader known as MK, who allegedly lured him into kidnapping.

Narrating how they did that, he said:

 “MK called me for the operation. He had guys in the bush. He brought out guns and said it was kidnapping work. I have not kidnapped before. I used to carry timber with an operator. We blocked the road with woods, stopped vehicles and kidnapped them. I have not been given any money. He said we should return to base first. It was MK that was with the money. He told us that the money was N5 million.
“My first time in Lagos was on April 5. I am from Arogbo in Ondo State. We did not beat the man. We took the man to the bush. He was fed cooked food. MK’s boys cooked Egusi and Eba and the man was served.”
Another suspect Alfred, also confess that MK tricked them that he was a timber operator and need workers which they were happy to do. He said he showed them guns. He said" i asked him if he was going to kill us he said no but we will soon know what to do with it".
 It was reported that they were arrested on April 10 at about 5:30a.m. at Ibafun along Ikorodu-Ijebu Ode Expressway.
