Chelsea will not be able to prevent the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid, with the forward in the final year of his contract.
Despite the club's looming transfer ban, the Belgian is determined to join Los Blancos, and Chelsea are demanding around £100m (€116m/$131m) for his signature, whereas Real are hoping to seal a deal for closer to the €100m mark (£86m/$112.5m).
The fees discussed are roughly half of what was touted last summer, but the Blues cannot afford to lose their star man on a free transfer next season and have been forced to lower their demands as a result.
Additionally, Maurizio Sarri's desire to sign Mateo Kovacic permanently could see the midfielder used as a makeweight.
