Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has berated the volume of smuggled goods coming into Nigeria through the Republic of Benin.
Dangote spoke at a stakeholders’ session in Lagos between the private sector and the Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
He said smuggling activities from the Benin Republic route is killing manufacturing in Nigeria.
According to him:
“Smuggling is killing Nigeria and most of these smuggled goods come from the Benin Republic. There is no country that can survive with Benin Republic as a neighbour.
