Nigerian vice president Yemi Osinbanjo has launch the Abia State Tele Health Initiative for the provision of healthcare for the people.
According to AIT, the program was launched in Umuahia. The Vice President, who pledged the support of the Federal Government towards the programme, said it is the responsibility of government at all levels to provide adequate healthcare for the citizens.
Osinbajo commended the efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu towards providing affordable healthcare through modern technology.
Governor Ikpeazu, while describing the initiative as a dream come through, said that the Tele Health Initiative, which enables one to consult a doctor on the phone any time, for a medical advice, is the future of healthcare delivery.
The dial - a-doc direct, is a pioneer innovation which among other things widens access and strengthens the primary healthcare.
